Battle Vault — last updated: 13 September 2026

In two sentences. Battle Vault is fully playable without an account: your nickname, your progress and your purchases stay on your device. If you choose to link a Google account — it is optional, and only you decide — your progress is then backed up online so you can find it again elsewhere.

Who is responsible

Battle Vault is published by J-Philippe Monniez, an independent developer acting as a private individual, under the name TechDevStudio89.

What the game stores, and where

Everything you create by playing is written to your device's storage. As long as you link no account, it never leaves your phone: we receive no copy and have no technical means of reaching it. If you choose to link an account, a copy is then backed up online — described below, and it remains your choice.

DataWithout a linked accountWith a linked account
Chosen nickname, icon, colour and titleOn the device only+ backed up online
Progress: completed levels, stars, chaptersOn the device only+ backed up online
Coins, energy, cosmetic itemsOn the device only+ backed up online
Settings: language, sound, music, vibrationOn the device onlyOn the device only

The nickname is freely chosen and never verified: nothing requires you to use your real name. As long as you link no account, we ask for no email address, no phone number, no date of birth, and no identification of any kind.

Online backup, if you choose it

You do not need an account to play. Battle Vault is fully playable without linking one, including two-player games. Linking a Google account only serves to back up your progress online, so you can find it again on another device or after changing phones.

If — and only if — you link an account, the following data is stored with Google Firebase, whose servers used by this game are located in Paris, in the European Union:

DataWhy
Your Google email addressTo recognise you and show which account is linked
A technical account identifierIt is what names your backup
Your nickname, icon, colour and titleTo restore your profile as you left it
Your progress: levels, coins, cosmeticsThat is the very point of the backup

This data is never sold, shared, or used for advertising. It serves only to give you your game back. We do not look at individual profiles.

What is never sent online: your purchases — they belong to your Google Play account and are recovered with "Restore purchases" — and the counters that determine advertising frequency, which stay specific to each device.

You can unlink your account at any time in the game's settings: your progress then stays on the device, and your online backup remains intact. You can also delete your account and your backup, permanently, from the game or without even having it installed.

Android automatic backup

If automatic backup is enabled on your phone, Android copies the app's data to your own Google Drive space, so it can be restored if you reinstall the game. That copy is made by Google, on your account, under your control: we cannot access it, trigger it, or read it.

You can disable it in your Android settings, under "Backup".

Two-device games

Multiplayer works without internet and without any server: the two devices talk directly to each other, over your local network or over one device's hotspot.

During a game, the joining device sends the hosting device your nickname and appearance (icon, colour, title), so the other player knows who is playing. This information travels from one device to the other and passes through none of our systems, since we have none. It is not kept after the game.

These exchanges are not encrypted. On a local network shared with strangers — a public network, for instance — someone with the right tools could observe them. We recommend playing on your own network or on a hotspot.

Purchases

Purchases are handled entirely by Google Play. We see neither your name, nor your address, nor your payment details: we only receive confirmation that a purchase was completed, so we can unlock what you bought.

Payment processing is Google's responsibility and is covered by its own privacy policy.

Advertising

The game shows two kinds of advertising, and it is only fair to tell them apart.

These ads are served by Google AdMob. To deliver them, AdMob may collect and process certain data, in particular your device's advertising identifier, technical information (model, operating system, language, country) and ad interaction data.

Before any personalised advertising, your consent is requested through a dialog provided by Google. You may decline: ads will then be non-personalised, and the game remains fully playable. You can change this choice at any time from the game's settings.

What the game does not do

How long data is kept

The game's data lives on your device for as long as the app is installed. Uninstalling the game erases it — disable Android's automatic backup first if you want no copy to remain.

If you have linked an account, your online backup is kept for as long as that account exists. It disappears permanently the day you delete it, with no copy or archive on our side. Uninstalling the game does not delete that backup: this is precisely what lets you find it again after reinstalling.

Your rights

The General Data Protection Regulation gives you rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction and objection regarding your personal data.

In practice these rights are exercised directly on your device, without contacting us: the game's data is in your hands, and erasing it means uninstalling the app. For advertising data, they are exercised with Google, through your device settings and the consent dialog.

You may still write to us with any question. If our answer does not satisfy you, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority — in France, the CNIL.

Children

Battle Vault is not intended for, and not directed at, children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any data concerning them.

Changes

This policy may change, in particular if the game's behaviour changes. The last update date appears at the top of this page.
